In November of 2015 I traveled to Beirut, Lebanon to participate in a workshop, co-sponsored by Small Media and Visualizing Impact, to help Human Rights Organizations (HROs) learn more about information design and data visualization. As one of the many mentors/presenters, my role was to listen and provide guidance as groups of designers, coders, researchers, and HRO's came together to create interactive visualizations to affect change. The results, which you can read about in an excellent recap on Small Media's website, were amazing.
Thank you to Small Media and Visualizing Impact for hosting the workshop and bringing together such talented and passionate folks from all over the globe. It was an experience I won't soon forget!
